Mr. Steve Gross - 7th Grade Counselor (2021-22)

Mr. Steve Gross is the school counselor for the 7th grade students this year. Before starting at Herrick, Mr. Gross was the guidance counselor for three years at Simmons Middle School in Aurora, Illinois.
In addition to counseling students, Mr. Gross also coaches Cross Country. He has also been the club sponsor for a few student created clubs including the Rocket Building Club and the Magic Club.
Mr. Gross earned his Bachelors and Masters Degrees from Eastern Illinois University. He is a member of the American School Counselor Association, the Illinois Counselor Association and the Illinois School Counselor Association. He is the author of a children's book titled, The Duck's Divorce and has been a guest speaker for the school counseling graduate programs at Northern Illinois University and National Louis University. Mr. Gross and his wife Kaaron live here in Downers Grove with their three children.
